I wasn’t sure what that meant until Taylor educated me. That was only part of the education I received but we won’t go into the rest of that. I am throwin’ it up hard because Senior Pictures are done. Finished. So this is me saying “You did it Taylor. You are about to enter the next chapter in your life. I hope it will be everything you imagined and more!”

This picture was taken under a bridge on a hiking trail that has become my favorite. I can let Jersey run free without worrying about him. He sometimes runs a few feet ahead looking back to check on me. But mostly he walks right by my side. If I stop to take a picture he stands there with me watching whatever has caught my eye. He is by far my most loyal friend and companion.
The power is still out and there is really nothing more to say about that. Last night we came home to another night of boredom. Chris and Maddie played jacks in the kitchen floor and I played with my camera. Oh, I played jacks for a little while until they realized I have mad jack skilz!Â

Our year has started off with the worst ice storm in our city’s history. We have no power and no water. I am writing this from Chris’ shop which has all the power in the world but no shower or bed. So sleeping here is out of the question but at least there is the Internet. I am posting some pictures to Flickr from yesterday. Things look much worse today but didn’t have time or the energy to take any pictures. We woke up this morning to discover that a large limb had fallen on the power line from the light pole to the garage and landed on the big green truck. I don’t think there is any damage to the truck but the light pole is now laying on the ground.
I am extremely grateful that we have blankets, the fireplace and each other to keep warm. We have all been huddling together in the living room and also sleeping there as it is the only warm room in the house. Our neighbors are giving us some kerosene and another friend is loaning us a heater. We are very blessed to have these people in our lives. I feel even more blessed that we have a home.
